Welcome to Direct Primary Care (DPC)! I am so glad that you have decided to learn more about DPC, Gold Direct Care and about me.
I am board certified in Internal Medicine and have spent the last several years as a hospitalist (the doctor in charge of your care while you are in the hospital). Like many physicians in today’s healthcare environment, I realized that my idea of being a doctor was not possible in the current system. I wasn’t able to spend the necessary, quality time with my patients; decisions were often based on what insurance dictated and not what I thought was medically appropriate; and worst of all there was disintegration of the doctor-patient relationship. This is when I discovered Direct Primary Care and I have not looked back.
Prior to medical school I received a Masters Degree in Public Health from Emory University and spent 5 years as a public health advocate and epidemiologist. I subsequently went to medical school at Nova Southeastern University and earned a degree in Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.
My training at an osteopathic medical school has instilled in me the importance of treating patients from a “whole person approach” and not as a specific disease process or entity. This philosophy is in line with the Direct Primary Care model and I look forward to integrating the two for the benefit of my patients. Additionally, I am excited to start offering osteopathic manipulative treatments to my patients.
On a personal note, I was raised in Florida and now live in Marblehead along with my husband and two step-sons. I still enjoy the sun and warmth, but am slowly getting used to the cold New England winters. I’m also a fan of the Bruins and enjoy cheering for them at both home and away games!
Please feel free to contact me directly (781-780-2461 or firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss how Direct Primary Care can work for you!
